Privacy Policy – SoyMomo Mobile Apps & Device Management

This Privacy Policy applies to all SoyMomo mobile applications, connected devices (including SoyMomo smart-watches), the SoyMomo SIM service, and the SoyMomo Mobile Device Management (“MDM”) profile that may be installed on a child’s iPhone or iPad. It complements our Terms and Conditions and governs how we collect, use, share, store and protect personal information.

1  Information We Collect and Why

When you create an account, pair a device, subscribe to a plan, or use any SoyMomo service we collect only the information that is strictly necessary to deliver and improve those services:

  • Account & Contact Data – e-mail address, SoyMomo ID, subscription status, and payment tokens, so we can authenticate you, send service messages and process billing. We keep this for the life of your account and for up to twelve (12) months after closure to handle potential queries or refunds.
  • Device Identifiers – hardware UUID, serial number and IP address collected during pairing to secure the connection between the parent app and each child device. They are deleted automatically when the device or MDM profile is removed.
  • Device Inventory (MDM) – operating-system version, installed-app list and key configuration flags, refreshed daily to let parents see which apps are present and to apply usage limits. Snapshots older than thirty (30) days are purged.
  • Usage & Diagnostics (MDM) – aggregated screen-time totals, web-domain requests and crash logs that power activity reports and help us improve reliability. These records are held for twelve (12) months, then deleted.
  • Location Data – precise GPS coordinates used for live maps and geofence alerts. Live sessions are kept for twenty-four (24) hours; historical trails for ninety (90) days. Location collection runs only with parental consent and can be paused at any time.
  • Communication Metadata – message timestamps and sender/receiver identifiers needed to deliver chats and calls between the parent app and the watch. We do not store message contents.
  • Payment Details – last four digits of the card and billing country, processed securely by our payments provider and retained for up to ten (10) years as required by finance and tax regulations.

Unless we explicitly ask for your consent, we process the above under the GDPR concept of legitimate interest or to fulfill our contractual obligations to you.

2  How We Use the Information

We use your data to (i) provide and maintain our services; (ii) display reports and safety alerts to parents; (iii) improve app stability and user experience; and (iv) comply with legal and accounting duties. We never use children’s data for advertising or profiling.

3  What We Never Do

  • Sell, rent or share personal or device data with advertising networks, brokers or analytics firms.
  • Collect screenshots, keystrokes, microphone audio, photos or message contents from a child’s device.
  • Embed third-party SDKs in the kids’ context that could repurpose data for marketing.

4  Sharing With Third Parties

We disclose data only to trusted service processors (such as B4A for hosting and Stripe for payments) bound by contracts that mirror this policy, or to law-enforcement authorities when legally compelled. We never grant third parties continuous device access (e.g., via MDM) and never share MDM-derived data outside the parent account.

5  Children’s Privacy

SoyMomo products are designed for children under 16 and can only be activated with the express, verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian. The parent remains the data controller for all child information processed via our services, in line with COPPA and GDPR-K.

6  Security Measures

We protect data using AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, a least-privilege access model and annual third-party penetration tests. SoyMomo is certified to ISO 27001 standards.

7  Retention & Deletion

Parents can delete any child profile, usage logs or location history at any time from SoyMomo app → Settings → Child Device → Delete Data. Removing the “SoyMomo Device Management” profile in iOS settings or factory-resetting the watch stops new collection immediately and erases residual data within twenty-four (24) hours.

8  Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may access, correct, export or erase your data by emailing privacy@soymomo.com or via the in-app Privacy Centre (Settings → Legal → Privacy). We answer all requests within thirty (30) days.

9  Changes to This Policy

Material changes will be announced in-app and on soymomo.cl/pages/politicas-de-privacidad at least seven (7) days before they take effect.
